OTTAWA, ON, Jan. 29, 2026 "Today, we remember and honour the lives of Ibrahima Barry, Mamadou Tanou Barry, Khaled Belkacemi, Abdelkrim Hassane, Azzeddine Soufiane, and Aboubaker Thabti, who were brutally murdered in the Islamophobic attack at the Centre culturel islamique de Québec in Sainte-Foy, which also left 19 people injured.
Montrealers will mark the eighth commemoration of the Quebec City Mosque Attack. Public vigil will be held to honour and remember the victims of the Attack
On January 29, 2017 a gunman entered Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec during evening prayer with the intention of massacring everyone within the building.
