National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) Hold Press Conference at London Courthouse as London Terror Attacker Faces Sentencing
Written by National Council of Canadian MuslimsMembers of the Afzaal family, along with community leaders and representatives from the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM), held a press conference this Thursday morning at the Courthouse in London, Ontario before victim and community impact statements are made during the sentencing of the terrorist who carried out the London terror attack in June 2021.
NCCM CEO Stephen Brown: “We are here with them and we will never leave their side.”
Imam Abd Alfatah Twakkal, London Council of Imams: "As Canadians, we know that this act that terrorized our community from coast to coast did not happen in a vacuum."
Nusaiba Al-Azem, NCCM Director of Legal Affairs: "With enough hate, anything can be a weapon."
The loved ones of #OurLondonFamily and the wider community have had to endure a painful trial for the terrorist behind the attack that shook this country. They had to relive pain, suffering, and grief.
Community leaders and NCCM representatives were with them this morning in London, Ontario before victim and community impact statements were read during the sentencing for the convicted terrorist. We will never leave their side. We will never stop fighting for them.
We need you by our side too.
We hope Canadians are watching, that they will not forget. It is time to stand with our community as we move forward with our grief and hope.
