Canada Expels Six Indian Diplomats For Serious Human Rights Violations
Written by National Council of Canadian MuslimsOctober 15 2024 One year ago, Stephen Brown, CEO of [National Council of Canadian Muslims] NCCM, stood with Canadian Sikh leaders at the House of Commons and called for the expulsion of India’s diplomats after the assassination of dissidents here in Canada.
Fast forward to today, and after months of advocacy, the government has heard the call of diverse Canadians in taking action in standing up to foreign interference by expelling Indian diplomats.
This is a significant moment—not just for Canada's Muslim community, but for protecting all Canadians' rights and values.
NCCM, alongside community advocates, have tirelessly raised concerns of criminal activity happening in Canada linked to well-known terrorist groups that have committed serious human rights violations in India, including groups within the notorious [Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh] RSS network, which has a long history of violence against India's religious minorities.
At NCCM, we're proud to lead the charge for justice and accountability, but we can’t do it without YOU. Your support powers our work to fight for human rights, challenge injustice, and protect our communities.
While this is a start, there is also much more work to do. There needs to be much more done by our leaders to investigate the extent of RSS related activities in Canada.
