Edmonton — With the Extreme Weather Response activation, Al Rashid Mosque will provide a safe and warm shelter to Edmonton’s most vulnerable citizens in partnership with the City of Edmonton and numerous community volunteers.
As people of faith, we hold dear the values and teachings that guide our lives and the upbringing of our children.
In the heart of our city, where winters unfold with unforgiving cold, as we enjoy the warmth of our homes, grateful for the comfort of a hot meal bestowed upon us by Allah’s mercy and grace, many of our neighbors suffer the bitter chill.
Effective immediately, we have severed our business relationship with CHFC.
Edmonton – As a part of the Extreme Weather Response activation, the Al Rashid Mosque will reactivate its winter shelter and open its doors to provide a safe and warm space for Edmonton’s most vulnerable citizens.
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatu Allahi Wa Barakatuh,
The Al Rashid Mosque in partnership with The Mustard Seed Edmonton is opening its doors to rough sleepers and individuals experiencing homelessness while temperatures remain perilously low.
City News Reporter Dalia Ashry and The Star Edmonton reporter Omar Mosleh are coming to Al Rashid Mosque on October 24 in Edmonton, Alberta to walk partipants through the reporting process in broadcasting and print media.
