Wednesday, January 29, 2025 10:42 a.m. (Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Hate and Bias Crime Unit 2024 Annual statistics show that the Unit addressed 467 incidents last year, including 351 criminal and 116 hate-motivated incidents, which marks a decrease of 4% over 2023 (compared to 487 incidents that year).

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has reintroduced a section specifically focused on Hate Crimes, which will further enhance changes it made to its online reporting system that make it easier for residents to report hate-motivated incidents.
