Join us for a three-hour hands-on workshop exploring the traditional Palestinian art of Tatreez (تطريز) – a form of storytelling through embroidery passed down through generations. This workshop offers a space to connect with Palestinian culture, history, and community through thread and conversation.
Meet Ala' Al-Thibeh - Psychotherapist & Artist
Born in Amman, Jordan with Palestinian roots, Ala’ is a psychotherapist and artist passionate about preserving Palestinian Tatreez. Taught by her mother at six, Ala’ sees Tatreez as a form of storytelling, resistance, and healing. In 2019, she founded Tatreez Studio to educate and empower communities through workshops on its cultural and historical significance. Ala’ uses art—Tatreez, sacred geometry, Arabic calligraphy, and textiles—as a means of expression, resilience, and collective healing, ensuring this tradition lives on for future generations.
