The Truth & Dare Project provides free photography and mixed-media workshops, self-care retreats, and an annual visual art exhibit for young Muslim women in the GTA. We offer safe spaces for participants to: collaborate with others who have faced similar adversities, learn individually and collectively, and explore the visual arts as a creative outlet to share their stories, their struggles, and their triumphs. Our programs and events aim to strengthen identity through exploration and engagement of the visual arts and create a sense of belonging amongst Muslim women. Our annual art exhibit, (mus)interpreted, showcases the work of project participants, as well as emerging and established Muslim women artists of the community. (mus)interpreted aims to represent a spectrum of Muslim women who work with a variety of mediums to document and reflect their lived realities, share their stories, and take up physical space in the art world.
