Canada Zakat

Canada Zakat is a project of DawaNet. We promote Zakat. We believe that local collection & local distribution will empower Muslims in Canada and will make our country greater. We work together to make our Zakat work for our community, our neighbourhoods, and our country. Canada Zakat is a source of local Zakat collection and distribution that is transparent, effective and compliant with Islamic teachings of Zakat. Our Zakat Distribution Committee rigorously examines the Zakat applications using criteria and procedures reviewed and approved by local Islamic scholars. The 4 poorest ethno-racial groups in the Greater Toronto Area, with more than 50% of their members living below Statistics Canada's low-income cut-off, are from predominately Muslim countries.
