Qurtuba Housing Coop. combines the principles of Islam and the cooperative movement to serve the Muslim community; the objectives are: To assist Montreal Muslims to become homeowners while respecting Sharia stipulations against usury.

To provide Muslim investors an opportunity for "Halal" as well as moral financing rewards. To date, Qurtuba has assisted many Muslim individuals or families to acquire homes in the greater Montreal area using the Islamic principle of Musharakah (partnership).

While the main objective of the Housing Cooperative is to avoid usury, it also aims to provide outstanding social service as a community organization, translating the Islamic ideal of brotherhood (Akhuwwa) in action.

Qurtuba is the Islamic alternative for Quebec's Muslim community. This is a interest-free housing scheme and a good Halal investment opportunity for the Muslim community
