MOSAIC Volunteers Association is a Muslim directed organization within Canada created for continuous youth engagement, training, community building and charitable activities.
Since 2009, MOSAIC has been helping discover the spirit of volunteerism in the City of Calgary. In the short time MOSAIC has been around it has already built roots into many of Calgary's most important non-profit and community organizations. In the near future MOSAIC hopes to become an integral part of Muslim identity and Calgary and help create a positive self-perception of Muslims, as well as improve their image and integration in their respective communities. MOSAIC's membership is made of non-profit and community organizations that need volunteers to complete their work.
According to a study conducted by Ipsos Reid on behalf of Volunteer Calgary in December of 2005, 71 per cent of Calgarians volunteered during the preceding 12 months. We hope to get 71 per cent of youth in Calgary to volunteer their time, and make volunteerism an integral part of Muslim identity.
